Leaving...

I said all of my goodbyes and my car is all packed. I'm on my way to having the adventure of a life time! I will only be posting little blurbs for the next week or so! Good luck to all who are checking in today and wish me luck driving with my mom and dad!

sadness

Tomorrow is my last day of work at my bank job. Im not really sad to be leaving. Some of the ladies were a pain in the ass and they didnt pay me enough for what i did there and the responsibilities they gave me. Im sure that ladies will get me something they are making a cake and stuff so it will be a sad day tomorrow. I'm only working a few hours anyway. then i need to come home and clean and start to really pack.

Saturday is my last day of work at the Limited. I have been there for 3 full years. I have worked with 3 of my managers for all 3 of those years. It will be very sad to say good bye to all of them. We are all going out to the local Casino to have a good time and for me to say good bye to everyone. it will be a very sad night.

Im not even sure i will be able to say good bye to some of my friends. Some of them took it upon themselves to stop talking to me already. Some are just not caring that im leaving for over 5 months. And to be honest im done i cant do it. It's too much work to worry about them and everything else. But at least i know there are still people who care...

i got a going away card today from a family friend... im getting alot of those. i cry every time i read them. at least they all come with gift cards inside =-) Im sad. I'm sad to leave and happy at the same time. Nervous and excited. Im a giant ball of emotions and im not sure what or how to feel. Scary i know.

I started packing/going through all my clothes. I have to much. I am going to be mailing some to me. Just 2 large flat rate boxes worth. Not too much honestly. It could be worse. I like to shop. i need to stop. i dont want to buy too much clothing while in florida. but im sure i will.

Im starting to get nervous that everything i have wont fit in my car. I have an 08 Subaru Impreza. My mom and dad are coming with me. So i need to fit all of my stuff their stuff and them in the car. it is going to take some creative packing skills. I have 5 full days left in the state. Wednesday morning bright and early at 7am we are leaving to drive to VA to pick up the auto train. Then i have my 17.5 hour ride on the train. That will be.. interesting to say the least.

cleaning

Just a short update today...

Im cleaning my room. I have decided to have entirely too much stuff! I have 3 full big grabage bags full of clothes im giving away and have 2 garbage bags of stuff too... and im not even done. I want to be done with this by tomorrow night. So i have lots left to do.

I leave in less then 7 days.. like 12 hours less... for my trip to Disney! Im excited and i will keep all of your updated. Im driving down to VA and taking the autotrain which will be an experience in its' self.

Well thats all! Back to cleaning!

packing..

So im putting off packing by blogging. Bad i kno2. I feel like im going to over or underpack and everything wont fit in my car. Just way too much stress. Tomorrow is cleaning and packing day tho!

I think i have everything i need or well i hope i do!

Getting Ready for the Mouse!

Hello Everyone! Im jumping on the band wagon and going to write a blog about the Disney College Program!

I'm Katlyn. I live in Pennsylvania. I am 22 and i am in my 5th year of college. Taking my time figuring out what i want to do with my life is not easy. I have wanted to do the Disney College Program since i was in High school. But i obviously could not do it since you need to be in college to do it. I put in on theback burner for a few years and then i went on vacation to Disney World in August and i knew i needed to apply.

I applied as soon as i got home about a week after applacations were out. I did my phone interview the first week of September. I was nervous waiting the 4-6 weeks they told me i had to wait to hear back. 5 weeks in a got a dreaded pending e-mail. I had given up hope abotu 3 weeks after i got that and holiday time was coming. (I work in retail so holiday is crazy!) Then November 10th i got an e-mail from Disney telling me i was accecpted for the Spring Program for Merchandise! I got very excited. MY 2 friends and i went out to the bar the celebrate because that is how all 22 year old kids celebrate!

Since then, it has been working crazy hours between my 2 jobs, and trying to get ready for the program. I will be leaving in 9 days to check in on the 25th of January. My mom, dad and my self will be getting there on the 21st of January to spend some time playing in the parks before i officially work there and we will be visiting family. We will be driving to Virginia to pick up the Autotrain and taking that the rest of the way down to Orlando. Im nervous that i wont fit everything in my car... with my mom and dad and their stuff.

I have almost everything purchased and i have stuff ordered from walmart that should be getting there right around the same time i do =-) . I bought alot of stuff right after i applied and wasnt yet accepted to the program. i got lots of college stuff dirt cheap and i need to work on saving and living on a budget.

Well i think that is all for now. I will write more as im packing and cleaning and getting my car all packed. And on the journey through the program!
